The firm is very familiar with zoning and planning practices in Volusia County and offers a full range of services in zoning and land use matters. We have previously represented various governmental entities, assisting in the development of several initial zoning and planning ordinances throughout Volusia County, including both east and west sides.  We represented one of the first zoning districts outside the City of Daytona Beach.  We do not currently represent any governmental entities having zoning power, and therefore, we are available to represent clients before local planning and zoning bodies. We have members of the firm who are familiar with the peculiarities of the development of the real property history of Volusia County, Flagler County and other areas in which we have rendered services.

We have been involved from the beginning in some aspects of the sovereignty lands dispute and litigated the original Deltona Lakes case.  This was, for a time, the predicate for the application of the Marketable Record Title Act.

Alex Ford is a former chairman of the East Central Florida Regional Council which reviews developments in planning and zoning throughout East Central Florida.
